P LASA show is London's international event for entertainment technology, hosting over 200 brands and over 50 hours of content from talks, forums, demos and training - and if last year is anything to go by, there will be a lot to see over the 3 days! So, we’ve picked 5 things that stood out to us as a must-see at PLASA London 2019.
D&B A-Series: Stand V60 & J20
D&B Audiotechnik will be on stand V60 & J20, introducing their all-new and advanced, A-Series. Steeldeck structures: Stand B10
Steeldeck have been providing stage hire and tiered seating for over 25 years and have been a customer of ours since the very beginning. They will be demonstrating lots of established products including their hugely successful Airstage. They’ll also be showing their signature product, Steeldeck, coming in a range of shapes and sizes, bearing a weight of up to 2 tonnes per deck and ensuring strength at any height with solid scaffold bracing!

Maverick MK3: Stand J30
Another one of our customers; CHAUVET Professional will be exhibiting on stand J30 showcasing their latest fixtures, including the Maverick MK3 Profile and MK3 Spot, Maverick Storm 1 Wash, Ovation E-930VW theatre profile, Ovation F-265WW and F4 IP outdoor video solution!
The CHAUVET Professional team have also been doing a worldwide roadshow, presenting the new Maverick MK3 Profile and MK3 Spot and other products to companies across the UK! PLASA is their last UK roadshow event, so it’s crucial to stop by their stand to avoid missing out.
‘Tech Talks’ Seminars: Stand J38A/B
ETC and High End Systems will be opposite the Current RMS stand on J38A/B, presenting their newest products, including their moving lights collection, such as the SolaFrame 1000, Architectural systems like the EchoTouch, CueSystem control, Source Four LED Series 2 luminaires and more products to officially release at PLASA next week! Their ‘Tech Talks’ seminars hosted by ETC specialists caught our eye, which will include talks on the illusion of color & explorations of LED technology. Our team will definitely be visiting their stand and hopefully, get the chance to check out their Tech Talks.
Blackout Installation - Step into the Bipolar II mind: Seminar Theatre 2
Proudly sponsored by Robe, Blackout is an immersive installation created by Guildford School of Acting’s Lighting tutor, Mig Burgess and will be found in Seminar Theatre 2! The installation harnesses the power of light, sound and video to portray Bipolar II disorder.
Blackout is a 6-minute experience, totally alone in a closed black box. You’ll go on a multi-sensory, audiovisual journey, similar to how someone with Bipolar II would feel in a state of mania and depression. Participants will be asked to evaluate their experience, with Dr Paul Hanna of the University of Surrey. Both GSA and UoS hope to gain valuable insight into mental health issues within the entertainment technology industries, so they can improve their understanding of Bipolar disorders and deal with it correctly and fairly for the future.
