O pening its doors to AV & lighting professionals for the 11th year, the show gave visitors the chance to see the latest products from names such as High End Systems, Chauvet Lighting and d&b audiotechnik, as well as over 175 other exhibitors, spanning throughout the Royal Armouries and the New Dock Hall.

Exhibiting on a brand new stand, N-C07, we were in the prime spot to catch up with our lovely customers and give all visitors a sneak peek of our upcoming features; Temporary Serialised Containers, and our exciting new scanning app. Having worked hard on these highly-requested updates for months, we were extremely excited to demonstrate these at the show and collect feedback on them.

The next phase on from Serialised Containers, Temporary Serialised Containers will enable users to add serialised, bulk and non-stock items to flight cases & containers on a job-by-job basis. Previously, all components added to serialised containers were designed to be permanently kept in that container, whereas now, the user has the choice to create both permanent and temporary versions, adding extra flexibility to warehouse operations.

Our new scanning app was extremely well received with rental businesses visiting our stand keen to see it in action. Available on both iOS and Android devices, the scanning app will scan barcodes & QR codes from the in-built camera in phones and tablets, making it super easy for businesses who are constantly on the go. Featuring the same options as the detail view, the app allows users to allocate, prepare, book out and check-in by either scanning, or manually entering the information of their assets. Users will also be able to free scan items onto jobs that aren’t already on the items list, just like in the detail view. All items scanned on the devices will update in real-time, meaning multiple people can work on the job together and avoid any clashes.

These two features are going through the final stages of testing and will be going live in Current RMS users’ systems soon! Watch this space…

Catching up with friendly faces

We’ve said it before and we’ll say it again, our favourite part of exhibiting at shows is getting to catch up with our awesome customers from far and wide, hearing what you’ve been up to throughout the year and the ways in which Current is benefitting your business!

Plus we couldn’t let anyone come by without taking some Current RMS goodies including; reusable water bottles, americano mugs and jelly beans - all branded of course!

That’s it for this year’s PLASA Focus Leeds, we’ll be back again next year. But for now, we’re focusing on our next stop; InfoComm in Orlando, FL. The countdown is on…
