Exciting new technology at PLASA London

A part from the obvious change of venue, PLASA has other exciting new features to bring to this year's event, one of which, being the Exploratorium. The Exploratorium is an area where participants will show off their live entertainment expertise with an 'experiment' which will entertain the masses. It will end with ‘Lens Through a Stereogram’ - an installation exploring visual and sound perception through interactive art, with particular relation to dementia and how it affects the self, the sense of perception and modes of expression.

ZEROdB Live supplied their new Prolyte H30V truss

We’re particularly excited about the Exploratorium, as one of our oldest customers, ZEROdB Live, are supplying their new Prolyte H30V truss, and project managing the build of this for Soulsound- which looks to be pretty massive.

ZEROdB Live are a specialist Live Event Production Management company, with management input into some of the London’s most talked about shows with areas of expertise in Stage Design, Technical Management, Lighting, Visuals and Audio Engineering, and Logistics.

ZEROdB Live have been using Current RMS for almost two years. “It’s just awesome, easy and fast to use and set up. We’re achieving far more effective resource utilisation for our hire kit, and being cloud based, it makes it so easy to see what is actually in the warehouse when you’re out on a job.” Commented Rob Stanley, MD at ZEROdB Live.

“The Support is excellent. We class them as friends, who are keen on understanding our operations and customising areas for our needs. I cannot imagine running our business without Current RMS.”

As well as the Exploratorium, the Innovation Awards are back this year, aiming to recognise and award new product ideas, which are independently judged by external industry experts. There are a variety of exciting products in the lineup, one of which being ‘Cyclone’, the latest development from the laser specialists. ER Productions, one of our brilliant customers, are bringing this exciting new product to the awards.

“It’s completely unique in the marketplace”, commented ER Productions. “Cyclone is a spinning 2m diameter, full colour, DMX fixture with 60 high speed X/Y scanning outputs, capable of scanning unto 30°.” Sounds pretty impressive to us!

“Mounted vertically or horizontally, the Cyclone's multi-directional head casts a range of geometric shapes and cage effects. Its modular design makes for easy mounting, dismounting and maintenance - ideal for all applications.”
