E xhibiting for 3 days at the Orange County Convention Center in the fabulous city of Orlando, it was the ideal time and location to catch up with businesses in the AV, lighting, and staging industry and meet new faces looking to move their rental business to the cloud.
New Faces, New Features đ¤ł
It was all go on Booth #6749, we were eager to discuss all things Current with our lovely customers and brand new faces within the industry! We were especially excited to show off our soon-to-be released features after a year of development. All three features were highly requested by our users, so we worked hard to get them ready to demo at the show.
Mobile Scanning App - Available on both iOS and Android devices, users will be able to book out and check-in their gear using the built in camera in their phone or tablet, meaning they can scan barcodes and QR codes without needing a scanner paired to their mobile device. Making it super easy for businesses who use #currentontheroad or for users needing to work on jobs together with separate devices.
Temporary Containers - Following on from Serialized Containers, Temporary Containers gives users the ability to build up flight cases on a job-by-job basis with serialized, bulk, and non-stock items. Adding an extra layer of flexibility and saving valuable time with warehouse operations.
Purchasing module beta - This exciting update allows users to create and manage purchase orders within Current RMS. Whether that be for sub-rented gear, labor, or manual costs, such as parking fees and accommodation, the new purchasing module will help users better plan budgets and logistics. You can now create back-to-back purchase orders directly from the costs view, create manual purchase orders, and authorize and mark purchase orders as sent. You can even generate and send branded purchase order documents to your suppliers - handy, hey?

InfoComm 2019 is the largest pro-AV trade show in North America, with over 1000 exhibitors this year, thousands of products, and 44,000 attendees from all over the world! Kicking off on June 10th, AVIXA were holding courses in the days leading up to the show; âEffectively Managing AV Staffâ caught our eye! There were also lots of seminars and workshops from Tuesday through Friday covering topics such as âChoosing the Right LED Display for Your Applicationâ, and âThe Future of Workspace Designâ.
During our time there, we visited ROEâs booth for their visual launch LED Screens for Fixed Installation, as well as LGâs âMassive Curves of Nature,â showcasing natural curves of the desert, waterfalls, waves, and light with LG OLED signage. We also admired the display of the new Maverick MK3 Profile and MK3 Spot fixtures on CHAUVET Professionalâs booth. Our showstopper for this year had to be Bart Kresaâs 3D projection mapped sculpture, âSviatovidâ, a totem like, four-sided, 5 metre tall model. The new sculpture is pushing boundaries in AV art and was âilluminated through 360° in True 4K using four Panasonic PT-RQ32 4K, 30,000lm laser projectorsâ [Panasonic] - a stunning collective of technology!
